A Phoenix, AZ area sports retail shop sought to transition from a traditional, foot traffic-dependent model to a more focused e-commerce strategy. The primary goal was to significantly boost online sales and optimize the overall marketing budget by shifting away from general traffic and awareness campaigns.
Strategy
Beginning in February 2025, our strategy involved pausing all existing foot traffic and general awareness campaigns to pivot fully toward an e-commerce-driven approach. Key strategic changes included:
Consolidating location targeting efforts, previously separated into local versus distant audiences, into one unified strategy. This streamlined our targeting efforts and improved efficiency.
Optimizing in-platform advertising spend to enhance Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and reduce cost-per-purchase.
Result
Paid Social (In-Platform) (2/1 – 3/10 compared to 12/25 – 1/31):
ROAS increased by 401.95%
Purchases increased by 140%
Cost Per Purchase decreased by 70.93%
Purchase value increased by 250.21%
Achieved all these improvements with a 30.23% decrease in budget.
Shopify Performance (2/1 – 3/10, 2025):
Total sales reached $48,182.91, up 227% Year-over-Year (YoY).Net sales were $47,001.25, representing a 241% YoY increase.
Average Order Value (AOV) rose to $222.55, up 49% YoY.
Orders totaled 238, marking a 136% YoY growth.

Google Ads
Prior to launching the new campaigns, the client’s monthly revenue had never exceeded approximately $1,250, with their peak monthly ROAS capped at just 1.58.
In our first month after implementing targeted Performance Max campaigns optimized for the Shopping network, revenue skyrocketed to $17,725.19—an extraordinary 1,318% increase. ROAS simultaneously improved to 3.41, more than doubling (a 2.15x increase) their previous best.
Conclusion
By transitioning effectively from traditional retail foot traffic to a robust e-commerce strategy and refining targeting and budget optimization, the Phoenix retail shop achieved substantial growth.
